Integrating Artificial Intelligence into PCCM Education: Insights from the 2026 APCCMPD Annual Fellow SurveyFellows-in-Training Committee Presenters:Emory S. Buck, MD, Duke UniversityLeora Haber, MD, Cleveland ClinicThis session will explore how artificial intelligence (AI) is currently being used in pulmonary and critical care fellowship training, drawing on national data from the 2026 APCCMPD Annual Fellow Survey. Despite increasing exposure to AI tools, significant gaps remain in formal curricula, faculty guidance, and clarity around appropriate, ethical, and effective use in clinical education. Learners often rely on informal or self-directed AI use without structured oversight, creating variability in skills, confidence, and application. This session is important to trainees and educators because it identifies current practice gaps and highlights opportunities to intentionally integrate AI into fellowship education to better prepare fellows for modern clinical practice.
